Transportation from the airports to the city centre
There are many ways to get to the centre of Paris from Roissy and Orly airports. It all depends on where you live in Paris. In any case, once in Paris, you can easily travel to your hotel thanks to the many metro lines. You will find all the details in the table below. However, we suggest what seems to be the most efficient from an economic-simplicity point of view.
- For Roissy: the Roissy bus or the RER B
- For Orly: the Orly bus
The RER B, Roissy bus, as well as the Orly bus are quite clearly indicated when you get out of the plane, you have to follow the signs carefully and walk a little.

Transports in Paris
The Ile-de-France and Paris regions have a dense public transport network. Overall, in the centre of Paris, we advise you to favour the very many metro lines (buses are practical for short distances, but more difficult to use). Maps of the Parisian metro, which are also available free of charge at all metro station counters.
Purchase. There are several options for buying subway tickets. In all cases, they can be purchased at automatic terminals in stations or subway stations (be careful, no point of sale at bus stops)
- buy a pack of 10 Tickets (14.90 euros, or 1.90 euros if you buy by the unit). You will use 1 per trip (be careful not to make any connections between the metro and the bus).
- buy one or more unlimited tickets for one or more days (Mobilis 1 day zone 1-2 for 7.50 euros; or Paris Visite package with for example 5 unlimited days zone 1-3 for 38.35 euros)
The Ile-de-France region is divided into travel zones, which result in different fares. The airports are in zone 5, the centre of Paris in zone 1-2. For visits, it is possible that some of them are outside zones 1 and 2.
